John Giaier

John Giaier remembers when the queen of soul, Aretha Franklin was just a young lass. He also recalls a less wild Ted Nugent.

Mr. Giaier, former President of GT Techno Tracks of Troy Michigan; remembers because he was there. The native Detroiter remembers recording with backup singers Thelma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent Wilson, 2/3rds of Dawn, along with Russ and Ralph Terrana.  His parents had signed him to a recording contract when he was just 15 years old.

If you find yourself singing along with certain radio or TV jingles in hometowns across America, you are already familiar with his voice. The Rochester Hills, Michigan resident has created many of those catchy jingles, which, when they get stuck in your head, seem to stay in your head the entire day.

Mr. Giaier has spent 47 years as a maverick in the industries of advertising, marketing, sales, and performing.  Mr. Giaier has built a career working with major marketing firms such as J. Walter Thompson, as well as becoming a highly successful entrepreneur.  Presently, Mr. Giaier serves as the President and founder of John Giaier and Associates, a multi-faceted advertising company that has provided services to major international companies such as Time Warner, Clear Channel, Hearst, Viacom and Comcast.  Mr. Giaier’s expertise is perhaps best exhibited with his pioneer efforts associated with musical advertising. Mr. Giaier is directly responsible for developing sophisticated unique technology that can help predetermine statistically memorable groups of musical notes, leading to commonalities present only in hit songs. According to Tom Rutt, the Chief Scientist at Lucent Laboratories, Mr. Giaier’s technology “Fosters successful formulas that he then uses in his psychological hooks.”  As a result, over Mr. Giaier’s career, he has created thousands of recognizable music based programs from Ford to Burger King.

A verifiable marketing and advertising guru, Mr. Giaier has changed the face of the advertising landscape with his unique blend of techno logic and musical expertise.  For his efforts, Mr. Giaier has been both nominated for a Grammy Award, as well as recognized by the business community with a lengthy article and picture June 11th 1996 on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. Mr. Giaier has been labeled the “Henry Ford” of the musical advertising industry due to his exceptional career of innovation.

Bill Gildenstern

Bill was raised in Michigan and worked as radio announcer, program director, account executive and station manager from Cheboygan to Mt. Pleasant, Saginaw, Flint, Lansing and Detroit.  He was the radio personality Bill Gibson on WRIF for years.  He founded a marketing company and later co-founded another.  Bill also co-wrote and presented thousands of musical images across 49 states.

The idea to create The Rosary Tapes first came to Bill in prayer during the Summer of 1992.   Continued from Our Story on Home page...

""So, I went right to work creating a test song for The Joyful Mysteries, to make sure my ideas would work.  The rosary is a series of prayers within a specific meditation, generally on a specific scripture passage.  Most times the prayers of the rosary are said with little thought to the Scripture message of a particular mystery, which loses the heart of the prayer.  So we wanted to bring scripture front and center in our presentation of the rosary.

“We wrote 2 meditations, the first being a prayer we might say to Jesus on the occasion of his birth, and the second His response.  Then Kelly and I recorded the meditations and the prayers.  Then I timed those speaking parts and constructed the instrumental portion of Silent Night to wrap around those meditations and prayers.  Kelly came in and sang the song, and we were very happy with the result.  So I called John, and then took it to him the next morning.  Nobody writes better musical hooks than John Giaier.”

Note:  Bill Gildenstern excitedly met his Lord and Savior face to face on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.  He is greatly missed.  He considered his most meaningful accomplishment to be the creation of The Rosary Tapes, as it was originally called. It is in his honor that we are re-releasing this collection.  We also believe that we need to come together in prayer since we cannot come together in person in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.  It is our hope that this collection helps enable that coming together.

MEET THE TEAM

John and Bill in studio

The subjects of stories run in most English-speaking newspapers worldwide, John Giaier and Bill Gildenstern are the founding members of Family of The Father, a Contemporary Christian musical group composed entirely of Contemporary Christians.  When we come together, we bring our Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, Pentecostal, Presbyterian and Episcopal traditions.  As we come together to sing and play, as one, at the feet of Jesus,

Bill Gildenstern

I believe that He who has the power to unite us is much more powerful than anything that could ever divide us. Jesus is Lord. We each worship in our individual churches, with our differing styles, doctrines, traditions, and interpretations. But many times the differences between our faith traditions are less striking than the differences within them.  Each of us comes with a unique perspective on faith and life.  But, as Christians, the most important thing we all share is that most important of all – Jesus.  If we can come together with our complete focus on Jesus, we can truly come together as one.

John Giaier

My goal all along with The Rosary Tapes was to create a series of albums that would not only appeal to all Christians, but also a series of prayers, meditations and songs that would be very comfortable for everyone as well.  To do that, we pulled all of our thoughts for not only the meditations, but the songs as well, from the written Word of God.

Am I doing this for God?  Yes, but not as much as I’m trying to do this for other people.  Please put this in bold type.  We can’t have a personal relationship with someone if we never talk to him.  I’m talking about Jesus here.  And we can’t love our Father if we don’t know anything about Him.  I believe those to be two necessary ingredients for a happy afterlife.
